West Cumbria Rivers Trust is an environmental charity dedicated to improving and protecting rivers, wildlife, and natural habitats across West Cumbria, while working closely with local communities to deliver long-term conservation impact.
George was approached to photograph the official launch event of the Wilder Walkmill project at Walkmill Community Woodland — a significant milestone celebrating four years of conservation, restoration, and community collaboration.
The event brought together local residents, school groups, and project partners to explore a series of newly unveiled creative installations, designed to share the site’s rich industrial history alongside its diverse wildlife and habitats. George’s role was to document the atmosphere of the day, capturing both the installations themselves and the interactions between people and place.
Through a mix of candid moments, environmental detail, and wider scene-setting imagery, the work highlights the connection between community, heritage, and nature — creating a set of images that can be used across the Trust’s communications to showcase the impact of the project.
